This day in history 1963 saw the First episode of Doctor Who aired. The episode starred William Hartnell as the Doctor, Carole Ann Ford as his granddaughter Susan, and William Russell and Jacqueline Hill as Ian and Barbara, and was known variously as "100,000 B.C." and "An Unearthly Child." I'm really glad the BBC brought the series back and that I was interested enough in the series to become a part of the fandom. I've gone back and watched the classic series, including the many reconstructions of the lost episodes. Currently, I'm up to Five's (Peter Davison's) adventures. Last night, I watched the story "Frontios." Only 32 days until David Tennant returns in the Christmas special episode "Voyage of the Damned" with Kylie Minogue. Thank you, davedujour and histrygrrl for helping to pique my interest in this wonderful Whoniverse. :)
