First glance feature: Does anyone local who I haven't asked already want to go to Riverside Theatre's Shakespeare Festival performance of The Tempest on Saturday July 1 at 8pm? There will be a pre-show Green Show on the green next to the stage at 7. So far it's snakewich and I, waiting on word from morgaine723. Let me know ASAP, I'd like to get tickets on Wednesday afternoon at the latest. Tickets are $30 each, and I'll pick them up and get money from all later.

This weekend past, we three and snakewich's parents went to Twelfth Night. It was... Well, let's say, "I laughed. I cried. It was better than Cats!" I was so entranced by the costumes that I checked the program to see who was the designer, and she's none other than Lindsey Stang who I was in the Cornell Theatre program with! The acting, staging, blocking, fight choreography, musical arrangements, and sheer delight and pathos made it a wonderful night. I expect that The Tempest will be no less fantastic a voyage. I have never seen it performed, neither on stage or on video (even though I share the name of the female lead character), and have always wanted to. There are no doubts in my mind that it will be a brilliant piece of fantasy and romance.

I'm jealous. I love The Tempest. Have you seen Prospero's Books?

No, I haven't. Thing is, from the description, I think I saw a sort of "Making of..." of this film. Is Ariel portrayed as a mask with ribbons? And Caliban as sort of a mud-monster that sleeps in the earth?

Son of a bitch.

I'll be out of town until the 3rd but I really, really, really want to go!
