S.A.D.

It's hitting me really hard this year. I couldn't even go to pool league last night. I don't think I'm up to seeing either of the movies I've been waiting for, and I just want to be left alone.

I'm with you girlfriend. I love fall, but I hate the shortening of the days, the darkness in the mornings, etc.....

You know...I'm pretty sure that in Texas (and in other states at the same Latitude) we have at least an extra hour of sunshine each day, in the winter. Not saying Texas is better...but after Bren and I have a house and a spare room, you snowbunnies should come down and visit us, in the dead of winter. *nod nod* We could have a winter CnG exodus! Muahahaha! And in February, there's OwlCon, too!

Patti's boyfriend lives in Houston. Maybe you know him, Houston Dan? They keep flying back and forth. Wish I could afford to.

No, can't say I've met him. The only "Houston" I know of is from ISCA, and IIRC, he's gay.

I don't know why it's so much harder this year. Maybe I'm just not happy with where I am in my life right now.

You do know that Colorado has on average more than 300 days of sunshine a year, right?

Anyways, I lived in Tacoma, Washington, for over three years (1995-1999) back in my Army days, and the gloomy weather eventually got to me. If you don't want to spend the money to invest in a lightbox, you may want to look into getting some daylight spectrum light bulbs for your home. They even make compact flourescent bulbs in the daylight spectrum (~6500 Kelvin); I recently bought some.

Anyways, I hope you feel better soon... isn't the thought of seeing Serenity tonight enough to cheer you up?!?!?

Wish I could move. I'll look into the lights, thanks for the advice. I'm not seeing Serenity tonight.

Is Serenity based on Firefly? I haven't really looked into what it is about yet.

yeah, it's basically all of the second season (or the plan for season2) in a movie.

Awe. Hugs to you, sweetheart! You need to get out - force Patti to take you...um, out.

Although a nice tube of cookie dough and a John Cusack movie sounds good too. :)

Maybe in another hour or so when non-parental people are likely to be awake, I'll give you a call. Cause you know us parent-folk. We're always awake at the butt-crack of dawn.
